TROUBLESHOOTING

IPTV buffering? Start with this home network checklist.

Buffering can come from the device, home Wi-Fi, internet connection, app or provider. Change one thing at a time so you can identify the cause.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Check whether the problem is local or widespread

Try another channel or programme, then try a different app on the same device. If only one item fails, note its name and time. If several apps are slow on several devices, the issue may be with the home network or internet connection. These checks narrow down the cause; they do not diagnose the provider’s servers.

Improve the device connection

Move the streaming device closer to the router, reduce obstacles, or use a wired connection if both devices support it. Pause large downloads and other heavy home-network activity, then try again. If the device is connected to a congested Wi-Fi band or a weak mesh point, changing its network location may help.

Restart carefully and check for updates

Close and reopen the player app. If needed, restart the streaming device and router using their normal menus or power controls. Check the device maker’s official store for app updates. Avoid unknown downloads, unofficial “fix” apps, and instructions that ask you to turn off device security.

Record what you observe before contacting support

Note the device model, app version, time of the problem, and whether other apps work. Ask the service provider whether there is a known outage and whether your exact device and app are supported. Do not send your password or full login details in a public post or an unverified message.
